Human

Last week, I attended a profoundly moving three-day Leadership Embodiment course offered by the Strozzi Institute.

Rather than discuss concepts about how we react under pressure and in times of change, we focused on our physical experience – how activated our nervous systems were, our pace of breathing, how tense or relaxed we were. Much of the training included ‘hand on heart’ exercises to connect with others, so when I read this poem that same weekend, it felt like a gift from the universe.

It is so easy these days to NOT see the humanity in other people, for our eyes to gloss over rather than truly connect with others whom we encounter. Today, experiment with being fully present with someone and notice the gift they offer the world. Even share it with them. You may find you are both profoundly moved as well.
