Can you feel the shift toward moving from dreaming to action as we enter the year of the Fire Horse, full of new beginnings and momentum?
This past week was the Chinese (lunar) new year. I always appreciate these opportunities to connect with the natural cycles of nature, rather than following our somewhat arbitrary Gregorian year – there is so much symbolism in them, as well as a palpable change in energy. With this new year, we are moving from the year of the Wood Snake (shedding old skin) to the year of the Fire Horse, which is characterized by new beginnings, movement, action, freedom, commitment to your chosen path, courage, manifestation, passion, creativity, fire, and aligning with your purpose. What a powerful invitation!
Can you feel the energy of the fire horse already starting to work? This week has felt particularly full of possibilities. I’m back at work on my Friday Pause manuscript with a renewed sense of energy. Some colleagues and I made the decision to offer a two-day retreat in May (more on this soon) – an idea that has been growing in me for a while. R and I (well, mostly R) are diving into our plans to move to the U.S. It’s all happening!
If you’ve been nurturing a new idea or possibility for your life, now might be a great opportunity to start moving from dreaming or ideating into action. As the line from the Tao goes, the journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step. I always like to ask my coaching clients: What is the smallest step you can take? And what is the boldest?
This week I’m sharing a little gem that I’ve been holding on to for the right moment. I hope it both makes you smile and also gives you a little nudge if you need it.
